Introduction

The Hungry Cow is a quality catering service located in Ernée, Mayenne, France. We offer a wide range of services to suit any event. Everybody has different tastes, that’s why we listen to your needs to provide you with a tailored culinary experience that you’ll never forget.

Our story

Angus and I have been in the catering industry for all our working lives. We moved to France in 2008 to reconnect with classic French cuisine after travelling for a year and sampling food from all corners of the world.

Angus has been the chef/patron on pubs in London and the South East, being one of the first people to bring homemade sushi to a pub menu and coming runner up in the Evening Standard Pub of the year. I have recently left the top restaurant in Mayenne (The Living Room) where we won the Mayenne Slowly Days Award in 2018.

We have now decided to hone all our experience into setting up The Hungry Cow Catering and Food Truck. Our aim is to provide a bespoke food experience, listening to what the client wants and coming up with ideas to fulfil their brief.

We cater for all events whether big or small (weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, canapés, dinner parties, BBQs), with our focus being on fresh, seasonal, local and homemade products.

Our food truck (coming in 2020) can be placed at a venue of your choice where we can cook authentic street food from the country of your choice, pulling from the tastes and experiences of our travels.

The Hungry Cow catered for our wedding this summer. I couldn’t recommend them more. Their attention to detail is exceptional. They managed to fit in last minute dietary requirements and their chicken main course came out perfectly cooked even though our schedule overran and there was an hour delay.

We hired Sam and Angus at the château for a wedding last Summer, and they did a great job. The bride and groom, all of their 60 guests, as well as ourselves and the staff were all amazed by the quality of the food.
